Indiana Fever's Aliyah Boston (7), Caitlin Clark (22) and Kelsey Mitchell (0) take a phot before the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The Indiana Fever have locked in their Big 3. After Kelsey Mitchell signed a new supermax deal, teammates Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston shared a heartfelt message for the returning star.
Fever are now locked and loaded to continue next season, as Mitchell is the latest star following the new CBA to secure a seven-figure deal. She signed a one-year supermax contract worth $1.4 million, according to ESPN's Chiney Ogwumike.
The Indiana Fever posted Clark and Boston's excited appreciation following Mitchell's return to the Fever on X on April 11. "Kelsey! Welcome back! Yay! Go Fever!" Both CC and Boston said playfully before Clark added, "Na, for real. We love you."
Mitchell played a key role in leading the Fever to the semifinals last season. It was their first appearance in ten years, despite the absence of stars like CC and Sophie Cunningham, who missed the remainder of the season with injuries.
Mitchell was the sole driving factor that took eventual champions Las Vegas Aces to five games as she put together two huge games in Indiana’s two wins in the five-game series with 34 points in Game 1 and 25 points, four assists, and three rebounds in Game 4.
She averaged an impressive 20 points per game in the regular season and elevated her performance to 22.3 points in the postseason, ranking second only behind four-time MVP A’ja Wilson.
Her career-best season also saw her earn a third straight All-Star selection, finish fifth in the league's MVP voting, and be a part of the All-WNBA First Team.
Indiana Fever GM has Nothing but Praise for Kelsey Mitchell
Mitchell is probably the best example of loyalty. She has spent all eight of her WNBA seasons with the Fever. The 30-year-old was drafted as the second overall in 2018.
She was also the most deserving to be the first to secure the supermax deal in Indiana. Fever GM Amber Cox confirmed the guard's impact on the franchise.
“Securing her return was our highest priority. Kelsey Mitchell is among the top of a long list of great athletes who have elevated not only our city and franchise, but their sport as a whole,” Cox said.
With Clark healthy and Mitchell returning, the Fever will be hoping to advance beyond the semifinals next season.
