UConn Huskies crushed Iowa 90-64, extending their 11-game win streak to 12. And right in the middle of it all was senior guard Azzi Fudd.

The 'People's Princess' put up her season-best performance, looking every bit like the powerhouse she is.

In Barclays Center, NY, her energy suddenly changed in the second half, scoring 21 of her total 27 points. Playing full minutes, she opened her box score with an 11-foot pull-up jump shot at 7:36 in the first.

Fudd finished the night shooting 11 of 24 and making 5 three's with 3 assists and 2 rebounds. Her dominant performances continue from the previous title-winning season.

The Arlington native was supported by sophomore Sarah Strong, who tallied 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. Strong managed the first half, putting up 20 points and five steals, giving UConn a 42-31 lead.

The UConn bench put up a performance for the 10,107 audience in the Women's Champions Classic, not allowing No. 11 Iowa to get close after quarter 1.

The Hawkeyes lost their guard, Kylie Feuerbach, in the first quarter with an ankle injury.

UConn will visit the Butler Bulldogs on Sunday, 28th December, after handing losses to ranked opponents like South Carolina Gamecocks, Louisville Cardinals, Ohio State, and Michigan.

Azzi Fudd’s college career

Fudd has had a college career filled with injuries, missing many games from 2022 to 2024. In her comeback 2024-25 season, she played all 34 games in her longest healthy stretch.

Carrying that momentum, Fudd is making some noise with her performances as UConn’s second-highest scorer with 17.7 PPG. She currently stands 1st in the Big East in 3-Point Field Goal Percentage (52.9%).

However, this is Fudd's last season with the Huskies as she prepares to go pro. And Geno Auriemma’s comments show that her best basketball is yet to come.

"'I think your four years here, you played five games where you really played to your full potential… You’d be doing yourself a disservice, whatever team in the W a disservice," Azzi said in an interview, quoting Auriemma. "'They wouldn’t know the player they’re really getting.’”

With a potential first pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft, which team do you see Azzi Fudd landing in?
