Audi Crooks Makes Elite Company With Brittney Griner in New Milestone Run

As Iowa State closed out on its 11th win of the season, Audi Crooks matched an incredible college basketball record.
Crooks is now the only Division I player since 2000 to record three straight games with at least 30 points while shooting 65% from the field, alongside Brittney Griner (2013). Her achievement isn’t really surprising.
In her most recent performance, she scored 30 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and added a block while shooting 13-of-20 in just 36 minutes.
Before exploding against Hawkeyes, she scored 30 points in 19 minutes against NIU with 68.4% shooting and 47 points in 33 minutes against Indiana, hitting 76% from the floor.
Crooks is on a 78-game streak of scoring in double figures, which is also the longest active run in the country. More importantly, sealing the record in the last game did more than just create history.
"I feel like now we're officially battle-tested. You know, people were commenting on our schedule and now there's not much else to say. When you have three players with double-doubles, you can't say we're a one-trick pony. You can't say our schedule is soft."
But Audi Crooks will not get carried away by records
Crooks' focus is not just on herself, but on the team as a whole. Her statement after the game made it clear.
"We're not concerned with the noise and what everybody has to say online. We're worried about the mentality in our locker room [and] that we have in practice. I feel that comes with maturity. It's really easy to get sucked into social media and public opinion. ... This team, we're all a little bit older and a little bit wiser."
Iowa State is growing as a team, not just as a star-powered offense. They’re averaging 93.8 points, 41.8 rebounds, and 23.6 assists per game.
Even in their latest win, forward Addy Brown added 20 points and 12 rebounds, while guard Jada Williams chipped in 11 points and 12 assists. So yes, it’s fair to expect more from this team.
