Audi Crooks Joins Elite Company as Iowa State Handles Texas Tech

Audi Crooks has become synonymous with records this season. And she’s not slowing down anytime soon.
After Wednesday’s road game against No. 21 Texas Tech, Crooks became the fourth Iowa State Cyclone player to reach 2,000 career points. She joined Angie Welle, Bridget Carleton, and Ashley Joens on that list. But that's not all. Crooks reached the milestone with an incredible performance.
She scored 14 points in the opening quarter. By the final buzzer, she had erupted for 33 points in an 84–70 Big 12 Conference win.
With this, the Cyclones superstar has now scored 30 or more points 15 times this season. However, since she hadn't done so since the New Year, she capped off the win by saying, "All I’ve got to say is, ‘I’m back."
Crooks has also reached double figures in 88 straight games. Earlier this year, she broke Iowa State’s single-game scoring record with a 43-point performance against Valparaiso.
Talking about his star player, head coach Bill Fennelly said, "I thought tonight was maybe start to finish, offense to defense, as good a game she’s played, maybe, since she’s been on campus
However, coming back to the game against Texas, the record-breaking didn’t stop with her.
Four Records Fall in One Night
The win pushed head coach Fennelly into the record books. He became the winningest coach in Big 12 history, earning his 297th conference win and surpassing LSU head coach Kim Mulkey.
Jada Williams added her own milestone. She crossed the 1,000-career-point mark while finishing with 15 points and nine assists. She went 6-for-19 from the field and committed just one turnover against Texas Tech’s high-pressure defense.
Then it was Sydney Harris joining the celebration. She recorded the first double-double of her career with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Notably, eleven of those points and 10 of those rebounds came in the second half.
Now, after a 17-5 start to the year, the Cyclones will go up against UCF on Saturday.
