Aryna Sabalenka is one step closer to winning the Happy Slam. And after beating American teenager Iva Jovic, the Belarusian star revealed one moment in the match that stood out for her.
“Definitely not many matches where I have played that well." The WTA No. 1 brushed aside American teenager Iva Jovic with a ruthless 6-3, 6-0 victory.
Reflecting more on the second set, she added, “Yeah, the second set I felt like I have to step in and put even more pressure on her… I knew that I have to step in and show the level and the class.”

Sabalenka established control almost immediately, racing to a 3-0 lead in the opening set and never letting her guard down. 18-year-old Jovic, enjoying the best run of her young career, showed flashes of promise early. The Belarusian saved all five break points she faced, including three during a 10-minute ninth game. Moreover, Sabalenka hit 31 winners in the match, bringing her total tally to 143.
However, despite the one-sided scoreline, Sabalenka was quick to credit her opponent after she also defeated another teenager, Victoria Mboko, in her fourth round.
“These teenagers have tested me in the last couple of rounds — incredible player,” she said. “Don’t look at the score. She played incredible tennis.”
With the title in sight, Aryna Sabalenka is feeling confident.

Next up is a semifinal clash against Elina Svitolina, who has just entered the semi-finals after crushing world No. 3 Coco Gauff 6-1, 6-2 later in the day.
“I honestly don’t care if it’s Coco or if it’s Elina. I’ll be out there, I’ll be fighting, I’ll be doing everything I can to get the win”, Sabalenka said.
Sabalenka has yet to drop a set in the Australian Open. Do you think she can find redemption after last year's heartbreaking loss in the final?
