Aryna Sabalenka Sends a Message Looking Back at 2025

In a story of extremes, Aryna Sabalenka's 2025 closed out with a loss against Nick Kyrgios, but she's not letting it keep her from celebrating another strong year.
The four-time Grand Slam winner posted a carousel of photos on Instagram, one for each month of 2025, to commemorate the precious moments that the year had offered her.
The caption to Sabalenka's post read, "Thank you 2025 for all the love, laughs, and lessons learned along the way. This year was definitely one for the books."
While Sabalenka achieved enough success in her professional field throughout 2025 to label it "one for the books," the beginning of the year was far from what she had wanted.
The 27-year-old was standing at the verge of a three-peat in the Australian Open, having won the tournament in 2023 and 2024. She also managed to reach the finals of the first major of 2025.
However, Sabalenka's dreams were shattered as she suffered an unexpected defeat against Madison Keys in the finals.
Her struggles continued at the French Open, where she lost in the finals to Coco Gauff. However, the Belarusian enjoyed success in smaller tournaments, winning the Brisbane International, the Miami Open, and the Madrid Open.
After another failed Wimbledon campaign, Sabalenka finally won the U.S. Open in September, marking her only major victory of 2025.
But Aryna Sabalenka has set her sights on her first title of 2026
As WTA No. 1, Aryna Sabalenka is expected to win majors once again this year. After Australian Open heartbreak last year, she's already set her sights on the first grand slam of the year.
"That match cost me a Grand Slam title. It stays in the back of my mind. It’s going to keep me motivated and keep me hungry. I really hope that if I reach the last stage of the Australian Open this year, I’ll be a better player than I was last year. You’re not losing, you’re learning."
