Arike Ogunbowale's Celebration Gone Wrong Following Unrivaled Championship Win

Arike Ogunbowale helped her Mist BC clinch the 2026 Unrivaled Championship, beating Phantom BC 80-72. After the win, she headed out with her teammates to celebrate, but things took an unexpected turn.
According to reports, the 29-year-old star was arrested after allegedly getting into a physical altercation with a security guard. The incident occurred at E11EVEN Miami, a 24-hour nightclub known for hosting championship celebrations.
According to the Miami-Dade County police report, the security guard—identified as the alleged victim—was attempting to escort Ogunbowale out of the club following another disturbance.
During the interaction, she allegedly struck the security guard, causing him to fall to the ground. As per the Guardian, the security cameras caught the incident.
Police arrested the Dallas Wings star at 4:22 a.m. on Thursday outside of a Miami nightclub. She was later released on bond. An Unrivaled spokesperson told Front Office Sports, “She is not [in custody]. She is home safely.”

Following the incident, both the league and the players’ union responded with official statements.
“The league is aware of an incident involving Arike Ogunbowale and we are in the process of gathering additional information,” an Unrivaled spokesperson said. “We’re in contact with Arike and her representatives," she added.
The WNBPA also alos chimed in. “The WNBPA is aware of a situation involving Arike Ogunbowale and is gathering additional information. We will continue to support Arike as her union and remain in contact with her representatives,” the union wrote.
Meanwhile, the Wings refrained from giving too many details about their process. Dallas explained that they "are in the process of gathering more information. Further comments will be provided once we have more details.”
