What started as a promotional tour ended with a hope for a new opening. Yes, that is exactly what happened at Angel Reese’s Australia Visit.

The Chicago Sky star reached Melbourne on February 6, 2026, to launch her PE shoes. And there, she admitted to the possibility of a standalone stint.

Reese’s Rebook AR1 in Rose Dust will certainly see many sold-outs in Australia. However, the Sky Guard herself might return to Australia for a game or two. In a discussion about a potential one-off appearance in the WNBL, Reese’s reply was positive.

"Maybe, maybe one day," Reese said. "I do like Australia, so maybe I'll come out here to play one game or two… Knowing (Aussies) always have your back, they're competitors and great people.”

Reese also praised the Aussies as “great defenders”, especially her former LSU teammate Last-Tear Poar.

“My favourite defensive teammate is Last-Tear… I remember one time she got a charge, hit her head on the ground, but she risked it all for the team”, she said. “It gives me chills now, talking about it as we won a national championship together.”

So, if Reese’s WNBL appearance hits the headlines someday, we’ll know why. However, her view on overseas plays was different before.

Angel Reese’s 2024 Take On Overseas Play

The tough salary situation in the W league pushed a lot of WNBA stars to the Unrivaled league. And Reese wasn’t any different. However, the Sky Guard opted against overseas plays when she joined the 3v3 league in 2024.

"I never planned on going overseas...I think it's amazing. Who wouldn't want to play with two great players like that? And I knew they were gonna bring on a couple more dogs,” she stated. “A lot of us never want to have to go overseas.”

While Reese showed excitement about the higher salary, playing with some of the best players and being able to get better, she emphasized “Nobody wants to go overseas.”

But in 2026, things look a bit different. As Reebok and WNBL just formed a partnership, Reese might actually return to Australia to play.
