Angel Reese Unwraps Christmas Surprise No One Expected

Dec 26, 2025, 10:30 AM CUT

Angel Reese’s offseason hasn’t slowed down for a second. Just when it felt like she’d already checked every box, she pulled off a holiday surprise no one saw coming.

Coming off another strong year in Chicago, the 23-year-old has been everywhere, from Team USA buzz to fashion and film moments.

Reese fully leaned into her “Bayou Barbie” era, showing off a customized Mercedes-Benz that instantly grabbed attention. One video zoomed in on the steering wheel, wrapped in bubblegum-pink leather with matching stitching.

Inside, it only got bolder. Pink quilted seats. Pink door panels. Even a star-lit ceiling that made the whole car feel like a night sky on wheels.

Reese later posted a selfie from the passenger seat, glowing under the star-lit ceiling as sunlight streamed in. Another clip showed the full interior, highlighting the detailed stitching and custom finish. She joked that “Santa came early,” clearly obsessed.

The former LSU star keeps growing her brand beyond basketball.

Angel Reese Turned the Pay Gap Into Power

Angel Reese never sugarcoated the reality of WNBA pay. When she said the league doesn’t pay her bills, it wasn’t shock value, it was context.

Reese has been open about coming from humble beginnings, once working shifts at Smashburger before heading to practice in high school just to make ends meet.

That perspective shaped how she moved once the NIL era arrived in 2021. Reese quickly turned visibility into security, landing deals with Coach, Wingstop, McDonald’s, Raising Cane’s, and Reebok.

When she entered the WNBA as the No. 7 overall pick in 2024, she signed a four-year, $324,383 contract with the Chicago Sky, including a $74,909 base salary a figure she later admitted doesn’t cover her bills.

The difference now is what happens off the court. In 2025, Reese’s income is driven by partnerships with Juicy Couture, Gucci, NBA 2K, Shea Moisture, and Cash App, pushing her into the conversation as one of the highest-paid women athletes. The paycheck may not come from the WNBA, but the power certainly does.
