Angel Reese Shares Proud Reaction as Brother Makes NBA Debut

Julian Reese's NBA debut didn't end in a win for the Washington Wizards. But for his sister, WNBA star Angel Reese, the final score was irrelevant. Her proud reaction on social media told the real story.

On March 2, Julian’s debut game for the Wizards was against the Houston Rockets, and the Wizards came down with a 123-118 defeat, with Julian recording just 2 points and 4 rebounds.

Angel shared the Wizards' official post announcing the starting 5, which included Julian. She captioned it with just a teary-eyed emoji. However, her next post’s caption read, “My momma looks so good watching her boy.”

After playing in the G League for the Toronto Raptors 905, Julian signed a two-way contract with the Wizards on Feb 28. And even before he took the paint, Angel cheered her brother up over her Instagram stories, sharing the Wizards’ posts and Julian’s videos of entering the game.

“First NBA game tonight, be great”, one of Reese’s stories said. She then posted Julian’s video with a heart shape drawn on it. While there’s no confirmation whether she was present at his debut match, Reese’s engagement and celebration did not falter. And she has always been that way for her brother.

Angel Reese Has Constantly Supported Julian Reese

Both siblings grew up chasing the same dream in Baltimore. While Angel moved to the LSU Tigers for her collegiate career, Julian stayed with the Maryland Terrapins. The older sister found success earlier, transitioning to the WNBA. But the younger one remained undrafted in 2025.

However, Angel constantly supported her brother. After Julian signed with the Wizards, she reshared the announcement on X. “My baby brother, Ugh I’m so proud of you! Your journey has never been easy & you’ve always stayed the course! Let’s go Juju!”, she wrote.

Even before that, when Julian played for the Los Angeles Lakers during the Summer League, Angel’s comment for him was, “Proud is an understatement. TIME TO WORK”.
