Unrivaled : Rose BC forward Angel Reese reacts to a three pointer
Angel Reese spent most of her WNBA offseason performing WAG duties and campaigning for Reebok, but after all the appearances and brand work, she’s heading back to the court.
To be specific, Reese is returning to Unrivaled for the remainder of the season. An X update from the official Unrivaled account labeled her "The BIGGEST AND BADDEST," revealing that she will be taking to the court in a Rose jersey, the same franchise she played for in 2025.
Reese put the seal of approval on Unrivaled's announcement in two ways. Initially, she reposted Unrivaled's X update, and then shared an update of her own, penning, "Goodmorning to my Rosebuds & my Rosebuds ONLY!"
Initially, Reese was not expected to compete in Unrivaled in 2026, but Rose BC had an open roster spot. Reese's name came up after Aari McDonald was ruled out for the season with a right leg injury, which led to a subsequent three-team trade. That reshaped the roster and left a vacancy open for AR5.
Now, she will be featured on the team alongside Shakira Austin, Kahleah Copper, Chelsea Gray, Sug Sutton, and Lexie Hull and will be coached by Nola Henry. So simply put, the Chi-Town Barbie is back for Year 2, this time to prove her loyalty to the franchise!
Will Reese’s Return Change the Title Race?
During 2025, the Chicago Sky superstar led Unrivaled in rebounding. She averaged 12.1 boards per game. She even recorded eight double-doubles, including the league’s first 20-20 performance with 22 points and 21 rebounds.
As a result, she was also named Defensive Player of the Year. But she missed the semifinals due to a hand injury. Rose BC went on to win the championship, but AR was not on the court for the title run.
But this season, Rose BC looks different. The team is currently ranked No. 5 out of eight teams, holding a .455 winning percentage with five wins and six losses. However, AR could provide the boost they need ahead of the championship push.
She is expected to make her return on February 20 against Hive BC, a roster that features Indiana Fever star Kelsey Mitchell, Ezi Magbegor, Sonia Citron, Natisha Hiedeman, Azurá Stevens, and Monique Billings.
So what do you think? Can Reese help Rose BC climb the standings and make another title run?
