Angel Reese Goes Viral as Latto Drops Unexpected Shoutout in New Song

On many occasions, Angel Reese has been a name beyond basketball, and the noted rapper and singer, Latto's latest release displayed that once more.

The Bayou Barbie has just returned after contributing to Team USA’s dominant WC qualifier campaign in San Juan. But what Reese didn’t know was that the Grammy-nominated rapper had a surprise for her in her upcoming album.

“Latto shouts out Angel Reese on the opening track of her upcoming album BIG MAMA, referencing her in the song “Business & Personal,” AR5 Updates posted on X on March 20. The lyric mentioning Reese goes, “Brook the tallest fine sh** to touch the net since Angel.”

The song is initially about Latto’s personal life. But that one line is a direct nod to her sister, Brooklyn Nikole, and Reese. Both women are connected by fashion, entrepreneurship, and branding. Where Reese brings athleticism, Nikole brings business.

The WNBA star was quick to respond to this shoutout. She hopped on X, writing, “Congrats sisterrrrrrr,” and even reposted Latto’s teaser. And given the bond these two share, it’s not really a shocker.

Angel Reese and Latto’s Friendship

From a music video cameo to a wholesome friendship, Latto and Reese have come a long way. In 2023, Reese made a surprise cameo in Latto’s music video "Put It On Da Floor Again". Latto’s shoutout lyric for Reese in this one was, “I been ballin’ so d*** hard, could’ve went to LSU.”

In 2024, that bond got stronger when the rapper dropped by a Chicago Sky vs. Dallas Wings game. When asked who she was there for, Latto’s answer was, “Angel Reese”. Reese took it to her social, joking, “We know who you came to the game for.”

And by 2025, there was no turning back. Both had several social media encounters, uplifted each other, and Reese even had Latto over her ‘Unapologetically Angel’ podcast. So, Latto’s shoutout is just an exhibit of their friendship.

Moving forward, do you think Angel might make a surprise cameo in Latto’s new album?
