When you get praise from one of the pioneers of women's basketball, it must be something special. And Angel Reese has done exactly that! 

She has caught the attention of 8x All-Star and 2x WNBA champion Lisa Leslie.

A recent post by @trendyhoopstars on X highlighted an elite group that had players put up multiple double-double seasons at both the collegiate and WNBA levels.  Reese is just the 3rd player in this exclusive club, the other two being Liberty’s Jonquel Jones and Leslie herself. 

The Hall of Famer was quick to re-tweet and add “This is outstanding! Records are meant to be broken! Go get ‘em @Reese10Angel I will be cheering you on💕😘🙏🏾” on Reese's achievements.

And it took Angel Reese only her second professional season to achieve this. She averaged 14.7 PPG and 12.6 RPG this season despite missing some games due to a back injury. This was after a rookie season with Sky in which she posted 13.6 points and a league record of 13.1 rebounds per game.

In addition to this, Angel Reese is the only player besides veterans like Tina Charles and Yolanda Griffith to have double-doubles in her first 2 WNBA seasons. She is also on the verge of becoming the fastest player to reach 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds, starting the 2026 season.

And Angel Reese is showing no signs of slowing down before LA28

“It’s everybody’s dream,” Reese said of the Olympics, and she’s already backing those words with historic numbers. 

"All I wanted to do this offseason was play USA basketball. This is what I decided to do, so I'm going to maximise my moment here."

Reese was a part of the senior women's TEAM USA training camp. And as LA28 approaches, she’s chasing gold in every statistic. Only time will tell if she makes the roster.
