After returning from the Winter Games, gold medalist Alysa Liu shared a photo of a unique problem. And her teammate Amber Glenn jumped in with a practical solution.
Glenn, 26, and Liu, 20, have both wrapped up their first Winter Olympic journey, coming back with three total golds.
However, Liu’s recent Instagram post suggests that gold is not all that she’ll be unwrapping. And Glenn knows what it's like.
On February 27, Liu posted a photo of herself sitting in the car, which was packed with gear and equipment from Milan. The caption read, “Car full of Olympic gear”.
And her Blade Angels teammate slid into the comments, mentioning what she did right after returning. “One of the first things I did after getting home is buying then installing shelving units into my garage”, Glenn wrote. “10/10 would recommend (Got mine at Costco).”
Amidst the huge number of likes and replies under Glenn’s comment, Liu managed to reply: “I just might.”
This isn't the only equipment issue the Olympians have faced. They both faced a similar incident in Milan.
Amber Glenn and Alysa Liu’s Medal Issue
In a recent interview, Glenn shared that the medals they were awarded were too fragile. Which led to some uncomfortable issues for the Texas star.
“As soon as we were about to go out there, Evan Bates told us like, 'Hey, these things are actually a bit fragile. Some of the ribbons have come off, or it'll get dented,” Glenn said when asked about the durability of the medals. "So, I'm trying to be very cautious."
And that was right before Liu voiced her concern. The halo-haired star was celebrating her win when her medal dropped, causing several scratches.
“I was just jumping up and down, as one does to celebrate, and it just dropped," she confessed during the interview. "It just literally fell off of the ribbon. It got very scratched up... pretty dented."
And so she requested a replacement, despite developing an attatchment ot that medal. The 20-year-old would’ve liked to get that one fixed, but that did not seem like an option.
Do you think Liu should take Glenn’s advice for the gear? Let us know in the comments.
