Alysa Liu has been in the spotlight ever since her historic win at the 2026 Winter Olympics that saw her bag two gold medals.

Liu, 20, in one of her most notable public appearances, marked her Oscars after-party debut, attending the event with teammate Madison Chock.

Highlighting their visit with a reel that read, "rare aesthetic: going to the Oscars after party with your bestie," Glamour UK captioned a post, writing, "Us and our besties at literally every event. Figure skaters Alysa Liu and Madison Chock were most excited to see each other as the pair arrived at the VF Oscars party last night."

The high-profile event saw Liu turn heads in a studded mini-dress paired with tights and black heels by Louis Vuitton, while Chock kept things elegant, wearing a sleek black silk gown with a draped tie detail flowing down the back.

And while many might be anticipating seeing Alysa Liu steal the show later this month at the 2026 ISU Figure Skating World Championship in Prague, the Olympian made a shocking announcement that she will not be participating this year.

Alysa Liu Reveals Why She’s Skipping the World Championship

After wrapping up a media tour that took her to places like New York City, Alysa Liu announced she will not compete at the World Championships, scheduled for March 24–29.

Making the unexpected revelation during a press conference in her hometown, Oakland, Liu cited her packed schedule as the reason, adding that she did not have time due to overlapping commitments.

“I don’t have much time for training. I don’t think I would be able to put out my best performance,” Alysa Liu said.

However, Alysa Liu did confirm that she will headline the Stars On Ice tour across the United States, which will run from April 16 to May 31, 2026.

The tour will see her performing alongside elite skaters including Madison Chock, Evan Bates, and fellow Blade Angels Amber Glenn and Isabeau Levito.
