A'ja Wilson was impressed by her boyfriend Bam Adebayo's wholesome act of sporting a pair of her signature sneakers, the Nike A'Ones, while leading his side to a victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Wilson chose not to use words to express her appreciation for Adebayo's hearty gesture. She shared two snaps of Adebayo's A'Ones to her Instagram story, one while he was courtside and the other during the match.
Sole Retreiver also noticed Adebayo's gesture and recognized its purpose. The caption to their Instagram post read, "@Bam1of1 showing love to A’ja Wilson and his alma mater @Kentuckymbb with the @Nike A’One exclusives tonight”, Soleretriever posted over Instagram."
However, a closer look at Adebayo's sneakers reveals that they were customized for another purpose. The foxing on the shoes bore the University of Kentucky's "UK" logo, a tribute to his alma mater.
On January 18, Adebayo rounded up 30 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists to defeat the Thunder 122-120. However, this one was far from being his only memorable performance in Wilson's signature sneakers. Also, their relationship goes far beyond affairs related to the court.
A’Ja Wilson and Bam Adebayo Want to Be Together for Life
There are multiple instances in which Adebayo has similarly supported Wilson and earned appreciation in return. However, the couple also celebrates the precious moments of their lives together, which speaks volumes about the healthy state of their relationship.
During an October 2025 interview with The Miami Herald, Adebayo expressed what he wishes for Wilson. "I want in life, I want her [Wilson] to win," Adebayo said, "I want her to keep being and setting a higher standard for everybody to where people think it’s impossible until it’s done. I want people, when she’s done, to be like this is the greatest women’s basketball player to ever touch a basketball."
But while Adebayo wants his 4xWNBA MVP girlfriend to "win" in life, Wilson wants to win with him to be by his side. In a December 2025 interview with Time, she said, "This [Adebayo] is my life partner. Honestly, what on earth was my world before you? That’s how much he’s impacted my life, my family’s life."
All in all, Adebayo and Wilson's love story is equally beautiful on and off the court. Would you call them basketball's power couple?
