As if her game already wasn’t topping charts, NiJaree Canady just hit another trailblazing moment with Adidas.

The Texas Tech star is going to be the first-ever college softball player to have her own Adidas PE cleat.

Canady broke down the news through an Instagram post on February 18. The post featured photos of the 22-year-old holding her ADZERO Instinct 2.0 PT NiJa. Some photos captured the PE alone in the frame. Her caption read, “Such a dream come true!! So incredibly blessed and thankful to have the opportunity to come out with my own cleat!!”

Coming with red crystal stripes, personalised name and number, the PE also gives a nod to Canady’s home in the sockliner. The Red Raiders’ pitcher will be debuting the cleat at the Mary Nutter Classic, beginning with Thursday’s game against Fresno State.

Adidas has confirmed that the PEs will be up for purchase, digging into the season. While this marks a historical moment for Canady, this outcome was hard to miss given her history with the brand.

Nijaree Canady’s Partnership History With Adidas

Canady hit it off with Adidas since 2024, when she had just arrived at Texas Tech from Stanford. She started as a part of the “Team Mahomes” class of NIL athletes, which was in partnership with Red Raiders great Patrick Mahomes.

As per Adidas’ announcement in November, the partnership continued through her school year. And finally, in 2026, the long-running partnership met fruition.

Sourcing from a Baller Alert article posted in 2024, Canady received a lucrative seven-figure NIL deal with Texas Tech’s NIL collective, The Matador Club. And fast forward to 2025, she had a $963,000 On3 NIL Valuation, becoming the highest-paid college softball player.

Aside from her brand successes, this elite pitcher helped the Red Raiders reach a Women’s College World Series berth last year. As a Softball America first-team All-American and D1Softball National Pitcher of the year, she was the cornerstone that pushed Texas Tech to the championship series.

Canady’s best is yet to come, and the PE could be considered as the first big step towards that greatness. She has already started 2026 with a strong performance, now it’s between her and time to deliver more.
